A new technology company focused on early learning opened their headquarters downtown St. John’s yesterday.
The company, through Carnegie Mellon University, focuses on using technology to support schools in teaching mathematics.
The CEO of Carnegie Learning, Barry Malkin, says everything they do is focused on research.
The company, which operates out of Atlantic Place, describes itself as a leading provider of K-12 education technology, curriculum and professional learning solutions.
Their program “MATHia Adventures” is already in schools in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the company plans to expand nationwide.
Malkin says the main service being developed at the Atlantic Place office is the K-6 math software called “MATHia Adventure.”
He adds that the St. John’s team works on the entire educational game.
