FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John’s Supplement King store has established an annual student scholarship in honour of last week’s motorcycle crash victim.

Noah Prieur was a student at North Peace Secondary School (NPSS) who tragically lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a Jeep Cherokee on Sunday, October 13th.

In response to the tragedy, the Supplement King store where Prieur worked has set up ‘The Noah Prieur Supplement King Scholarship’ for graduating Fort St. John students.

NPSS will distribute the $1000 scholarship at graduation, allowing a Fort St. John student to go to college every year.

City Councillor Trevor Bolin, who owns the store, says the loss has been hard for him and his employees to accept.

“I don’t think people are even wrapping their minds around what happened. It’s only been a week. Noah was such a huge fan of the store and such an amazing guy, we wanted to make sure that his legacy lives on,” said Bolin.

Bolin described Prieur as a brilliant and curious kid who always wanted to learn more about life, career paths, and investing.

“He was so curious about life and about the future that I want to see other people have that same passion and curiosity,” said Bolin.

The store has since put a plaque outside the store to help keep Prieur’s memory alive.

Bolin says the scholarship represents not only Prieur’s great traits but also what makes Fort St. John a great place.

“It’s about family, it’s about community, and it’s about caring, I think that sets Fort St. John apart.”

A GoFundMe campaign was also created to support Prieur’s family in the days after he passed away. So far, it’s raised more than $17,000 for his family.
