Hockey hosts Colorado College | University of Alaska Anchorage

Alaska Anchorage will host No. 9 Colorado College in a two-game series at the Avis Alaska Sports Complex Oct. 25-26. 

Series

Alaska Anchorage trails the all-time series with Colorado College 19-59-5. UAA has a 13-18-5 record against CC in Anchorage. The Seawolves are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games against the Tigers in Anchorage. 

Ranked Opponent

Alaska Anchorage will face a ranked opponent for the second time this season when it hosts Colorado College. UAA lost both games against top-ranked DU to open the season. 

Coach Shasby

Head coach Matt Shasby enters his third season leading the Seawolves. The Anchorage, native has a 24-40-3 mark as the UAA bench boss. Shasby will be assisted this season by Chris Kamal, Aaron McPheters and Vincent Pietrangelo

UAA had four players record more than one point in last week’s win at Northern Michigan, Porter Schachle (two goals, one assist), Tanner Edwards (three assists), Ben Anderson (one goal, one assist) and Davis Goukler (one goal, one assist).  

First Points

The Seawolves had nine different players record their first point of the season at Northern Michigan last week. 

Shots

Alaska Anchorage recorded a season-high 49 shots in last week’s win at Northern Michigan.  

First Start

Freshman Tyler Krivtsov started his first game in goal last week at Northern Michigan. The Santa Clarita, Calif., native made 18 saves on 20 shots against the Wildcats. 

Third Period

Alaska Anchorage has scored eight of their 12 goals in the third period. 

Score First

Last week’s win was the first time this season that UAA scored first in a game. 

Last Time Out

Alaska Anchorage split a pair of games at Northern Michigan losing the first 2-1 and winning the second 5-3.  

Looking Ahead

Alaska Anchorage will host in-state rival Alaska Fairbanks in a pair of games in the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup Nov. 15-16.
